This session will focus on a charged and highly relevant topic:

• Paid VA Claims Consultants or “Claim Sharks”, the GUARD VA Benefits Act, and the CHOICE Act – An update on federal and state efforts related to fee-based VA claims assistance. We will discuss the competing approaches embodied in the GUARD VA Benefits Act and the CHOICE for Veterans Act, recent state legislation aimed at regulating or restricting unaccredited claims consultants, and the implications of the Ford v. Veterans Guardian case.
